Back during men's fashion week, or London Collections: Men (LCM), as the British Fashion Council has cumbersomely decided to name it, Mr Porter held a very British presentation of its new special collaboration. Umbrellas on the ceiling, models posing inside telephone boxes, and tea and crumpets for all (who could stand to queue in the bitter cold outside). I learnt two things at the presentation. 1 — I'm the only person still pronouncing it 'Mister Port-ay' by analogy to Net-A-Porter. 2 — I need me some Richard Nicoll knitwear. Simple colour-blocked pieces, Nicoll's designs really stood out as the most elegant amongst the rest. I also loved the foil-pocket offerings of Matthew Miller and the dark blue leopard-print top by Sibling. I'm not so into Katie Eary's prints any more, but I can definitely see the market; rumour had it one of them had sold out online before the presentation was even over.
I might be a little bit late getting this post up but most of the items are still available over on Mr Porter, so get shopping!
