Charlie Le Mindu's Hollywood Glamour

For the past month I have been seriously considering having my hair short-back-and-sided once again.  You know the problem with hair that is mid-length: too short to put up effectively or put behind one's ears, but long enough that it constantly falls in your face when you're trying to work.  And then we entered this cold snap (alright, I'm kidding myself, I know it's here for the long-haul) and I rediscovered how longer hair keeps your ears nice and toasty when it's frosty outside.  So my hair is here to stay... but what if you don't have gorgeous locks like moi?  Then fake them, of course!  I hereby declare today to be a Good Hair Day on the blog.

The BLOW press offices were full of accessories brands when I visited and, in particular, ones specialising in headgear.  Top of my list was Charlie Le Mindu, hairdresser to the stars, wig-fitter for Lady Gaga and shock tactic favourite of the Blow Presents show during fashion week.  Perhaps better known for his barely-there wiggy dresses and accessories, he of course started out with his outlandish headpieces, and these were indeed the stand-outs from the collection.  Hairpieces in pink, blonde and dark brown were styled up à la Farrah Fawcett, Courtney Love, or like classic Hollywood movie stars.  In fact, one of the wigs actually came with its own hot pink Hollywood Hills sign.  From the rest of the artworks, as these hair creations really are, my favourites included a girly heart-shaped handbag (with long pink tresses, naturally) and a pink leopard-print bodysuit that leaves little to the imagination.  I'm now wondering who I'll see wearing these come February in London.

Hope you are having a good hair day (and if not, I recommend Bumble & Bumble Crème de Coco hair mask)...
